"I can’t thank Cycling Holidays Italy enough for organising three beautiful yet challenging rides during our weeks’ stay in Anghiari. We pedaled over rolling hills, sprinted on the fast flats and span our legs up classic switch back climbs. All this whilst being surrounded by vineyards, ancient buildings and spectacular views at the top of each climb. It was not all hard work though as we punctuated each ride with strong coffee and delicious pastries, the apricot jam tarts were worth the trip on their own.

I think it’s fair to say that we were a challenging group, constantly changing our plans and asking lots of questions throughout the week. Needless to say, each were addressed and the ride didn’t skip a beat. Having a knowledgeable guide really took the anxiety out of having to check maps at each junction, and what became evident was the local insight of knowing which roads were closed and how that might affect our route meant that we were never on a busy road.

In summary, what differentiates
Cycling Holidays Italy is that Leigh has a real passion for the area. I could see the joy on his face as he was describing the sights that we were about to encounter, moreover I left each ride with a recommendation of where to eat and drink that night. All of which were spot on!.”

"Leigh looked after us across 3 rides – giving us a great range of ride types from flatter valley floors through sleepy villages to lake circulars to significant climbs. He was quick to adapt and flex rides when domestic commitments cropped up (!) and always with a smile.

Great chatting during rides and always a great coffee stop (or 2!) which is vital! This was a great way to see the beautiful local countryside in a safe and organised way that always felt relaxed – a great combination. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Leigh & Cycling Holidays Italy.”

"I only had a day to get some cycling in and I'm delighted I went with Leigh and his local knowledge. He also helped sort out bike hire which was a bonus. A fantastic ride to the monastery or La Verna through some beautiful scenery and lovely roads. I asked for some hills and the route that Leigh chose was spot on. Nice steady climbs and some fast flowing descents.

The cafe stops were amazing and kept me fueled up. Definitely a highlight of my holiday, and I wish I had time to do more!

"I have just taken up cycling again after many years. Our Cycling Holidays Italy guide, Leigh, paced me really well and gave me plenty of time on the climbs, the scenery was stunning so not just the hills to take your breath away!

Highly recommended and really raised my climbing ability for back in UK"

"I spent just under a week last year with Cycling Holidays in Italy.  I ride quite a lot in the UK and really wanted to test myself on some of the famous hills in Tuscany.  Leigh and his team took us on some great rides through little towns that I'm sure we would have never found on our own!

The riding and the accommodation were both excellent, as was the local town of Anghiari, I couldn't fault a thing.  I am hoping to attend another tour next year, work depending but I am definitely coming back."

"I cannot recommend Cycling Holidays Italy highly enough.  Leigh’s knowledge of the area is exceptional and he took us on several rides all of which varied greatly in scenery.

Rides were challenging but very doable for us fifty year olds, even in the August heat.
Leigh knew great places to stop for a quick cappuccino and pastry and helped us out where English wasn't spoken.

Leigh saved us hours of poring over maps and planning routes, he’d even checked the quality of the roads for our bespoke tour on his moped to see if they were suitable for road bikes before we arrived.
We had a truly wonderful cycling experience".

"A keen cyclist for many years now but well into those MAMIL (Middle Aged Man in Lycra) years, I was a little nervous about my first ever overseas adventure.  The Cycling Holidays Italy tour I took in 2016 was the perfect introduction.  I opted for a difficulty rating of 2 which turned out to be the perfect balance for me.

A good chunk of riding through the most spectacular scenery but without looking to break any Strava speed records along the way.

The Cycling Holidays Italy team certainly know the terrain like the back of their hands, and more importantly for my group, those coffee and cake pitstops along the way.  On returning to the UK those weekend Surrey hills seem to have flattened just a smidge!".
